Right — been using this thing for something like five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d say something since someone asked me a few days back. Am based in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, for context.
What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I never could figure out what an each way return would be once you get five places instead of three. I’d just eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. These days I type the odds in before every slip, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator tool is the one I open most — type in the price and your stake and it shows the return instantly, fractions or decimals. It also handles the bigger stuff — trebles returns, a lucky 15, yankees, and that’s where I’d always mess it up. What really made a difference is the geekier bits. There’s an implied probability thing which shows you the overround, and a kelly criterion calculator — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. The dutching one is handy too if I’m covering two or three runners.
It’s not perfect mind. Its interface is a bit basic — no flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s fine although the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.
So yeah. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, works. Anyone who still adds it up in their head, try it — it’s saved me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
